It was nice. I've only been here a couple times.
My husband was in 6/20/17 to return a defective item for replacement. He had the original receipt but not the box. He asked if he could give her the new box and he would take the replacement 4-way adapter without one. She grabbed his hand and actually pushed it away from the one he was replacing. When she became violent he asked for a manager. Thank goodness the manager didn't make a scene and gladly accepted the exchange. Theisen's receipts state "1 Theisen's Valued Customer" I don't think so with a clerk of her temperament. Plus there were several customers waiting in the two check out lines while other store personnel were conversing in a huddle not attending to customers. Reading other reviews, we feel this facility is lacking "customer service" training.
I like Theisens they have a very good selection of both farm and town products. I was a little disappointed today. I'd been told the kayak I wanted was$237 it wound up being 251 on sale plus tax. I'd also been told they were open until 7 this evening but found out they were closing at 5 which I understand but would have enjoyed having information right the first time. That said, I will still make them my go-to store when it's feasible.
But what can you do. They seemed to think that people liked them... Maybe others do, I only know what I've heard from family I trust...
Last winter (2016/2017) I was checking what they had for pellets for a pellet stove (for my sister's house) They only had the ones that seem to be the cheap, crummy option that others around are stocking. My sister and brother-in-law told me they are super ashy, burn too fast, and look like they are just shredded old pallets. They also seemed to mess with the auger that feeds the pellets into the stove. It was noisy from using those pellets. They had to take it apart and lube it with graphite lube to get it to stop.
Theisens is a great Farm Store. They have everything from hunting equipment to tires and tools. Every year we get all of our canning supplies from Theisens. We also purchase all of our plants for a garden from Theisens as well.
I bought a $15 Salted Nut Roll just before Christmas. When we opened it on Christmas Eve the seal was broken and the candy stale. When I returned the defective product they were sold out. Because I had not saved the receipt-who saves a receipt for a candy bar??? I was given $7.50. Because they sold me a defective product I lost half my money. Walmart next time!
